Love Island finalist Simba has opened up about another behind-the-scenes moment from the villa, revealing that the sparkly jorts he wore during the live final were never his own choice. After viewers took to social media to joke about his outfit, Simba explained that contestants don't always have complete control over what they wear for key moments in the show. According to him, the now-viral look wasn't something he picked himself. Stylists working for Love Island sponsor eBay chose the final look and had given him very few choices.
His girlfriend, Angelista, later backed up his claims, saying Simba wasn't offered the same range of clothing options as some of the other finalists. While Love Island winner Lorenzo Alessi wore a classic black tailored suit and runner-up Kavan Murphy was dressed in a blue silk shirt with black suit trousers, Simba was instead dressed in the sparkly denim shorts that quickly became a talking point online.
The revelation sparked a wave of support from fans, with many taking to The Shade Borough's Instagram comments to question why Simba hadn't been given a more formal outfit like the other finalists.
One Resident wrote: "So they didn’t have a suit for the black man?"
Another commented: "They mocked it."
A third added: "This is such a blatant setup because how do they not have suits on hand for him???"

Many fans argued that the wardrobe choices unfairly singled Simba out, with some claiming he deserved the same styling opportunities as the other finalists.
The outfit controversy comes shortly after Simba addressed another moment that had been widely mocked online. During the final, viewers joked about him saying his "mum smiled bares" after he told her about Angelista.
However, after leaving the villa, Simba revealed that his mother is living with motor neurone disease. His emotional disclosure gave fans a greater understanding of the speech he delivered to Angelista around the firepit, with many saying it added important context to a moment that had previously been misunderstood.
