Scott van-der Sluis and Leanne Amaning, who met on series three of Love Island All Stars, have officially confirmed their relationship status after a romantic getaway to Iceland, where Scott asked Leanne to be his girlfriend during a special moment filmed and shared on his YouTube channel.
The video shows Scott speaking to the camera moments before the proposal at the Blue Lagoon, where he revealed his intentions ahead of the emotional milestone.
“I’m going to ask Leanne to be my girlfriend now. I didn’t think there could be a more iconic place to do it to be fair so we got a little bit of help from the people at the blue lagoon and yeah, wish me luck everyone!”

The footage then cuts to Scott and Leanne together in the Blue Lagoon, hugging closely in the water, wrapped around each other and sharing kisses as the moment unfolds and she says yes to becoming his girlfriend.
After the proposal scene, the video transitions to the couple reflecting on the moment, with Scott confirming their new status by saying, “We’re officially boyfriend and girlfriend!” while Leanne adds,
“We’re no longer closed off!” in a light hearted reference to earlier moments in the villa.

The phrase refers back to conversations they had during their time in the villa, where Scott questioned the idea of being “closed off”, explaining he preferred to move directly into an official relationship, while Leanne was more cautious and preferred a gradual approach to commitment before making things official.
Despite early differences, the pair worked through their disagreements in the villa and ultimately left together, continuing their relationship beyond the show.
Scott and Leanne also faced speculation from fellow islanders who questioned the strength and authenticity of their connection. Tension first emerged when Leanne briefly ended things after Scott began getting to know another contestant, which led to further complications inside the villa.

During that period, fellow islander Belle Hassan expressed interest in getting to know Scott, and he showed some interest in return, although he ultimately remained emotionally connected to Leanne and the pair eventually reconciled. Following this, Belle reportedly told another islander, Samie, that she believed the relationship would not last outside the villa and suggested Scott would eventually message her after filming ended.

Since their time on Love Island All Stars, both Belle Hassan and Whitney Adebayo have appeared on podcasts where they discussed events from the villa. Belle claimed Scott had access to a phone during a dental visit while in the villa and suggested he saw public opinion favouring him and Leanne, influencing how he approached the relationship. Whitney shared a similar account regarding the alleged phone access and added that Leanne was aware of public support and said she would “run it up”, implying she would lean into the audience reaction.
Despite these claims, Scott and Leanne never publicly responded and instead continued focusing on their relationship outside the villa. Since leaving the show, the couple have regularly shared TikToks and videos together online, attracting millions of views and widespread support from fans.
