According to reports, the new cast will begin secretly filming this month starting with the annual advert that will begin running in May:"Filming for the promotional adverts is beginning in the next couple of weeks and the ads will start in May. This series is going to be the longest ever and it's from a brand new location so it's all very exciting"After using the same villa for the last 5 years, producers are excited to debut a brand new villa where the young singles can find friendships and navigate romantic relationships.

Kevin Lygo, ITV's managing director of media and entertainment, insisted thatthe 'marvellous' new mansion will make for a 'great' eighth series.

A source has revealed:

"ITV bosses think this is the right moment to refresh this element of the show, just as they did in series three back in 2017.

Bosses are conscious of the fact that this is also an opportunity to consider all the new elements they could introduce to enhance the show even further."

They added, "For fans of Love Island this is huge news and they'll be eager to see what the new villa looks like and how much it could change the show."

This year will be the show's longest ever instalment as a source has confirmed that the schedules are being finalised at this time and "fans can expect a long, hot summer of fun from the villa from June 6th.

Last year's anticipated final saw 2.8 million viewers tune in to see Liam Reardon and Millie Court crowned series champions amongst the finalists, Faye and Teddy, Kaz and Tyler and Jake and Liberty. Although this was a boost of 430,000 viewers, it still did not compete with the views of the previous series finale which brought it a incredible 3.4 million viewers where the crowned winners were Finley Tapp and Paige Turley, a couple who remain together to this day.
