Downing Street Held Two Parties the Evening Before Prince Phillip's Funeral

Number 10 Downing Street has apologised to the Queen of England after it was discovered that two leaving parties were held on the 16th of April, the eve of Prince Phillip's funeral.

The Prince's funeral was conducted the following day and citizens are shocked, insisting there is a lack of respect demonstrated by hosting parties during this time.

The separate parties were held as a farewell to the former director of communications James Slack and a government photographer, with reports stating attendees were drinking until the early hours of the morning. It has been alleged that a staff member was even sent to a local Co-op supermarket with a suitcase, and tasked to fill it with bottles of wine.

Due to the recent discovery of the lockdown-breaking gatherings, a formal apology has been issued to the Queen and Buckingham Palace by the spokesperson of the Prime Minister.

He said, "It's deeply regrettable that this took place at a time of national mourning, and No 10 has apologised to the palace for that."

The Prime Minister has described the public outrage towards the Downing Street parties as a "significant anger" and has apologised on the matter publicly.

The Queen was forced to sit alone during the funeral of the Prince whilst parties were being held in the home of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister's spokesperson added:

"You've heard from the prime minister this week. He's recognised No 10 should be held to the highest standards and take responsibility for things we did not get right,"

Downing Street's string of lockdown parties is set to be investigated by the senior civil servant, Sue Gray.

It is still currently unclear what kind of result we are to expect from the revelations uncovered surrounding 10 Downing Street's failure to comply with Covid restrictions, but it is clear that citizens are vocally appalled by the matter.
