Cruz Beckham is setting the record straight after reports claimed his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, had unfollowed their eldest son, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, on Instagram amid ongoing speculation of a family rift. On Sunday, December 21, the 20-year-old musician addressed the rumors directly on his Instagram Stories. Cruz shared a screenshot of a Daily Mail article alleging that David and Victoria had intentionally unfollowed Brooklyn, 26, and firmly denied the suggestion.

“NOT TRUE,” Cruz wrote. He went on to explain that the situation was not a deliberate decision by his parents, adding, “My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”

According to Instagram, users are not notified when they are blocked. When a block occurs, both parties are automatically removed from each other’s followers and following lists, even though previous likes and comments may still be visible. Currently, David, 50, and Victoria, 51, are no longer following Brooklyn on the platform, and he is not following them either. The former footballer and fashion designer continue to follow their other sons, Romeo, 23, and Cruz. Their youngest child, daughter Harper, 14, maintains a private Instagram account.

Brooklyn’s wife, actress Nicola Peltz Beckham, also does not follow David or Victoria on Instagram, and the couple does not follow her in return. Neither David nor Victoria has publicly commented on the speculation surrounding the social media changes.

Rumors of tension within the Beckham family have circulated for some time, particularly after Brooklyn was noticeably absent from several family gatherings earlier this year. In May, Brooklyn and Nicola, 30, did not attend David’s 50th birthday celebration in London, despite receiving an invitation. Victoria, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper were all present.

At the time, a sources suggested that Brooklyn and Nicola chose to skip the event because Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull—who had previously been rumored to have a romantic connection with Brooklyn—was expected to attend. Cruz later responded to a social media comment disputing that claim, stating that “Brooklyn and Kim never dated,” a sentiment echoed by another source and Turnbull herself.

Speculation about a possible family divide dates back to 2022, around the time of Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in Palm Beach, Florida. Reports suggested tension arose between Nicola and Victoria after Nicola ultimately did not wear a wedding gown designed by Victoria, despite initial plans to do so.
