A viral gym clip has social media in complete disbelief after a woman was filmed casually snacking on crisps and salsa while walking on a treadmill. The short video shows the woman keeping pace during her workout while using the treadmill’s water bottle holders to store both her crisps and dip.

Social media users were horrified by the fact the food was placed directly into the treadmill holders with no wrapper, tray or protection, which led to endless jokes about the amount of germs, bacteria and “mystery gym viruses” that probably live in those compartments.

Many people argued the setup itself was more unsettling than eating during cardio, with comments pouring in from viewers saying they could never enjoy salsa knowing the container was sitting where sweaty water bottles usually go. Others joked that gyms may now need to introduce a “no dining during workouts” policy altogether.

While the internet remains divided on the multitasking itself, one thing most viewers agreed on was that using the treadmill cup holder as a dipping bowl was out of pocket. From jokes about catching “gym borne diseases” to people questioning how she could even focus on her workout while double dipping salsa mid cardio, the clip quickly spiralled into one of social media’s funniest hygiene debates of the week.

Still, whether people were disgusted, entertained or low key impressed by the confidence behind it all, the video has definitely secured its place in the viral gym content hall of fame.
