Just days after grime pioneers Natalie Athanasiouas, better known as NoLay, and Joshua Ramsay, better known as Griminal shared stunning pictures from their wedding day, fellow UK rapper Trillary Banks has sparked fresh controversy after claiming Griminal allegedly sent her a suggestive voice note.
According to Trillary Banks, Griminal, allegedly said while heavily breathing: “Come put them lips on me innit Trill Trill… I gotta chill.” At this stage, there has been no confirmation surrounding when the alleged voice note was sent.
The claims have reignited tensions connected to the long-running feud between NoLay and Trillary Banks, one of the most talked-about clashes in recent UK rap and grime history. The pair were famously locked in a fiery, multi-round rap battle that dominated conversations within the UK music scene during a tense weekend in November 2020. Both artists exchanged hard-hitting diss tracks, drawing major attention from fans and fellow artists alike.
While NoLay has since appeared to distance herself from the feud and recently celebrated a major career moment by performing at the MOBO Awards, Trillary Banks has continued taking shots at the grime veteran. In recent months, Trillary even changed her social media profile pictures to images of NoLay, further fuelling speculation that the beef is far from over.
The latest drama comes shortly after NoLay and Griminal officially tied the knot in an intimate private ceremony. Exclusive images shared by The Shade Borough showed the couple celebrating their wedding surrounded by close family and friends after quietly keeping much of their relationship away from the public eye.
For longtime grime fans, the marriage marked a full-circle moment for two respected figures who helped shape the sound and culture of the UK underground scene. NoLay became one of grime’s most respected female MCs during the genre’s early rise, earning praise for her sharp lyricism, raw storytelling and unapologetic delivery in a male-dominated scene.
