A sold-out Astroworld festival turned deadly when guests began pushing towards the front of the stage, crushing some people and reportedly leaving them unable to breathe.
8 people died amid the crowd crush and hundreds of others were left injured after the incident at NRG Park on Friday.
Speaking on the matter, rapper Travis Scott, who is the mastermind behind the Astroworld festival said he was devastated by what happened and was ready to cooperate with Authorities.
"I'm absolutely devastated by what took place last night," he said in a statement on Twitter the following morning, Saturday, Nov. 6.
"My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival. Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life", he added.
I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need. Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love You All."
Although authorities haven't established the cause of the incident yet, some rumours have been floating around that there was someone injecting random people with drugs at the event, which caused panic in the crowd.
According to the Houston Fire Department, approximately 300 people were treated on-site for minor injuries after the incident while 17 others were transported to area hospitals.
Officials also confirmed that 11 of those patients transported were in cardiac arrest.
The event, which was initially set to be a two-day festival, was cancelled after the tragic incident.
"Our hearts are with the Astroworld Festival Family tonight; especially those we lost and their loved ones," the festival said in a Nov. 6 statement. "We are focused on supporting local officials however we can."
"As authorities mentioned in their press conference earlier," the statement added. "They are looking into the series of cardiac arrests that took place. If you have any relevant information on this, please reach out to @HoustonPolice."
