Halle Bailey has joyfully announced the birth of her son, putting an end to months of pregnancy speculation.

The 23-year-old Little Mermaid actor shared a photo on Saturday, January 6, revealing her newborn's hand holding hers, with the name "Halo" engraved on the baby's bracelet. “Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” Bailey stated in her caption.

Bailey has been romantically involved with rapper and social media personality DDG since 2022, who also posted the same picture on his Instagram, expressing, "My biggest blessing by far, son son... never been so in love, baby halo."

DDG, formally known as, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, shared a similar post on his own Instagram page to announce the news, writing in his caption: ‘My biggest blessing by far 👶🏽❤️ son son.. never been so in love 🥹 baby halo.’

In response to Bailey's announcement, numerous fans and celebrities sent their congratulations. Throughout the latter part of 2023, Bailey faced ongoing pregnancy rumours, fuelled by her choice of loose-fitting clothing. Responding to comments about her appearance, Bailey addressed the scrutiny, emphasising her love for her identity and expressing gratitude to her genuine supporters who respect women's bodies.

In May, Bailey discussed in an interview how her life has changed since beginning a relationship with DDG. When asked if she would call him a real Prince Charming, she said, “Yeah. I would say that.”

“I think the best thing about young love is that you're able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else,” the actress explained. “And you're discovering new parts of yourself and maybe things that you didn't notice before about your heart."
