In the widely shared video, Korra can be seen pouring Coke over her hands and face in an effort to soothe her burns. Korra can later be seen being tended to by multiple uniformed officers and receiving unspecified treatment to her skin. Korra’s sister, food content creator Nancy Umeh also posted regarding the terrible incident on her Instagram story. Nancy stated that "someone” had “poured acid on [her] sister's face. They threatened to stab her all over her body. They have stabbed her on her hand”.
Korra stated in her post that she had received ‘a lot of hate in the past’, prompting many fans to speculate on what she was referring to. The mother-of-two has been the subject of several online debates in the past, particularly since her very public divorce from husband Justin Dean, in which she admitted to having cheated on him. In a cryptically captioned post, Nancy detailed her sisters attacker with the controversial caption ‘This is now beyond divorce, it is no longer funny. What would I have told my father if this person succeeded?’ Nancy's vague caption has prompted extensive speculation as to the reason for the attack amongst online spectators.
Whilst the motive behind her attack still remains unclear, Korra’s sister added that the attacker ‘‘waited outside’ of Korra's room, suggesting that the attack was not (entirely) random. Korra has described her attacker as ‘black female. 5 foot.’ and has requested that anyone with information reach out to her managemnt email: Korramanagement@gmail.com:
