Michael Todd, the lead pastor of Transformation Church, has been receiving online backlash in the wake of his viral sermon clip, "Welcome To The Deep."
Taken from the full one-hour sermon, the minute-long hot take from Todd calls on men to become anchors for their families while discouraging women from participating in the #SilhouetteChallenge; as taking your clothes off, somehow, makes men not "even wanna know what's in yo mind no more because you've shown them everything under your clothes.
"However, Mike's comments did not go down well with the ladies as many took to social media to criticise him for telling women what to do with their bodies. One user commented that his views are what forces many women to obsess with being modest only to find out that there is no benefit that comes with it.On the other hand, some did not take offense to his views as he is a man of God.
One user took to the comments to defend him; "He is speaking from a place of faith as a Man of God.. what do people expect him to do condone any and everything as a Christian?", he said.
The silhouette challenge has been trending in the past few weeks; the challenge requires participants - who are mostly women to upload a somewhat erotic video of an outline of their semi-nude body with a red filter that highlights their body figure.
The challenge gained popularity after Miss Chloe Bailey of Chloe x Halle rendition of the viral challenge, which had various celebrities and influencers participating in it.However, the challenge later got much more explicit and steamy as some participants chose to get completely naked.
This has prompted TikTok (where the challenge began) to take down a number of videos relating to the challenge. Many users have nonetheless found it entertaining and have shared the challenge millions of times on social media.
