Molly-Mae has been trending on social media and subject to a lot of media backlash regarding the comments she made on a podcast, where she accredited her success to hard work and determination, claiming that everybody has the same 24 hours in their day as Beyonce and it's our choice what to do them.

Several people on social media were not happy with these comments. Some believed that Molly-Mae is not entitled to say this as she comes from a place of privilege, and socio-economic factors and ingrained ideologies play a part in the success rates of citizens.

Molly-Mae has now released a statement on her Instagram page in which she addresses the response the public has shown to the comments she had made prior.

She writes that she never posts or says anything online that has any "malice or ill intent" and says that she absolutely "appreciates" that things affect people differently.

She then goes on to apologise to "the people who have been affected negatively or misunderstood the meaning" of what she said in the podcast.

According Molly:

"The intentions of the podcast were only ever to tell my story and inspire from my own experience".
