Love Island 2021 winner Millie Court and Liam Reardon have announced they have decided to end their relationship just one year after the couple one the dating show.
The pair posted on their Instagram stories very similar statements of their break-up, saying that it was time for "new chapters."Only November last year the couple shared with supporters that they had moved into a new home together.
The news comes as a shock to fans who watched the two's undeniable connection on their screen last summer.However, their Love Island journey was not completely smooth sailing due to how Liam spent his time in Casa Amor. At a point when their relationship seemed very serious, Liam began cosying up to Lille Hayes at a time where the boys were introduced to all new women and vice versa.
Liam ultimately decided to stick with Millie before Lillie revealed his behaviour in Casa Amor. The scene was one of the most memorable British TV moments of the year and many viewers were disappointed with Millie for forgiving Liam after how he acted.Now, the couple have ambiguously announced their split with no real mention of a reason why. However, slight clues indicate that it may have been Millie who made the final decision. In her statement, she wrote: "It's been a tough decision and I'm gutted but it's ultimately what is best for us right now."
Whilst Liam wrote, "...we have sadly separated. Honestly so gutted.
