After just 7 months of dating, it looks like Maya Jama and Ben Simmons are ready to take their relationship to the next level.

The NBA star allegedly popped the question during the Christmas holidays with the two keeping news of their engagement private.

However, the news later floated to the public after a tattoo artist shared a photo of the basketball player stating he had tatted Philadelphia 76er player and his "fiance."

"Ben adores Maya and has fallen head over heels for her. He picked up the ring on Jewelers" Row in the diamond district of Philadelphia the day before he proposed," an insider told The Sun.

"He chose the ring himself and felt he knew exactly what she would want. Maya said yes and they're both thrilled"

The insider also revealed that Simon had been nervous about popping the question because Maya had rejected a proposal from a previous relationship.

Thankfully however, she said yes and the two are now on the road to marriage. The source revealed that Maya had even flown to New Jersey to spend Christmas with Ben to have a small family gathering where they announced their engagement.

Simmons and Maya went public with their relationship in July last year when they attended Wimbledon together and shared a kiss.

Simmons famously dated Kendall Jenner and pop singer Tinashe, while Jama's list of famous exes includes British rapper Stormzy.
