Love Island's Jacques O'Neill Leaves the Villa

The contestant has decided to quit the show for reasons which will be revealed in tonights episode.

Love Island has announced the departure of contestant Jacques O'Neill.

In a statement from ITV which confirms the news, it is said the reasons will be revealed in this evening's episode, 12th July which read -

"Jacques has made the decision to leave the Villa," the statement said. "He will explain his reasons to the Islanders during tonight's episode. We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what's next for Jacques."

Jacques whose run in the villa was controversial, entered the villa a week into the show, first introduced as fellow contestant Gemma Collins ex-boyfriend.

He had since been coupled up with Paige Thorne until the annual arrival of Casa Amor.

Following several flirty chats with Casa Amor bombshells Mollie Salmon and sharing a kiss with Cheyanne Kerr, it was suspected that the ex-Rugby player would choose her but instead, he chose to stick with Paige.

Cheyanne, who was disappointed in his decision revealed to the Islanders that she shared a connection with Jacques.

He later tried to win her back, explaining: "I don't want to lose you and it's as simple as that, and I'm sorry for hurting you. It's made me realise I only want you. From now on, it's just you and that's that."

Jacques actions were met with much backlash from viewers who did not approve of his actions in the villa.

His family urged people to be kind and revealed that the contestant suffers from ADHD and added "Sometimes, people living with ADHD may behave in ways that come off as rude or disrespectful," in a post on his Instagram.

The caption added - "Jacques was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 9 years old. By no means is this a get-out clause for his actions, but it is to show that he can fundamentally struggle with his emotions at times.

"He is an amazing person who I'm proud to call my friend/little brother.

"All the hate thrown towards Jacques doesn't go to him directly... It comes to his loved ones who have always supported him and not just whilst he is on Love Island.

"Love Island, although real, is still a show where the producers do have control and we see 45 minutes out of the 1,440 in 24 hours."
