A brewing feud between former Love Island contestants Chidi Nwakwu and Tyrique Hyde has escalated after Chidi publicly addressed weeks of comments made about him while he was still in the villa.
Tyrique, who appeared on Love Island in 2023 before later returning for Love Island Games and building a large online following through livestreams and football content, has spent much of this year's series hosting live watchalongs. Joined by former Islanders, friends and family members of current contestants, Tyrique has regularly given his opinions on the latest episodes, often in his trademark outspoken style.

Throughout Chidi's time on the show, Tyrique repeatedly questioned the bombshell's confidence and ability to make an impact in the villa.
During one livestream, while speaking with current contestant Simba's brother about Chidi pursuing Angelista, Tyrique remarked:
"But Chidi is not a striker. Chidi is like a benchman."
The comment was widely interpreted as suggesting Chidi lacked the confidence or "game" to successfully pursue Angelista, who remained coupled up with Simba.

After Chidi was dumped from the villa, the remarks continued.
During another livestream featuring former Love Island contestant Anna Vakili and her sister Mandi, a viewer asked Tyrique why he had previously named Chidi among the Islanders he would be least likely to invite onto one of his streams. Tyrique replied:
"I picked Chidi because I just feel like Chidi didn't entertain at all in the slightest on the show so I just think I don't want to be on stream with him. Nothing personal against him."
When the caller pointed out that Halle, who left the villa alongside Chidi after entering at the same time, had been invited onto the stream, Tyrique simply responded:
"Halle is more entertaining than Chidi."

Chidi remained silent throughout his time in the villa and in the days immediately after his exit. However, he has now decided to respond.
Speaking during a TikTok Live, Chidi appeared frustrated by the repeated comments.
"If he can record a video of him doing 20KG over his head for 10 reps, then calm, he can talk to me. Until then, stop mentioning my name bro! Stop mentioning my name! I beg."
He continued:
"Some fan! I don't even know the guy man."

Mocking Tyrique's well-known catchphrase, Chidi added:
"'Lataa! Lataa!! Let's do a Love Island watch along guys.' Clown."
He didn't stop there.
"Bro's 26, still doing Lata gang. Go do something with your life bro. Go start a business or something, you're pushing 30."
He then said:
"He needs to be humbled. Everyone knows he needs to be humbled. Absolute clown."
When viewers suggested settling the disagreement in a celebrity boxing match with a £10,000 purse, Chidi rejected the idea of fighting for money.
"Let's do it for free. Bro get in the ring with me. Bun the 10 bags, let's do it for free. Let's squabble this weekend bro, I'm down!"
Continuing to mock Tyrique's livestream persona, he joked:
"At the end of the day all he does is sit there with a bloated face saying 'Lata gang! Lata, Lata!' Sipping his strawberry BuzzBall! What a baddie!!"

During a separate livestream, Chidi addressed another question from viewers asking what had been said between the pair.
"All I said is that he has got no neck. That's all I said, there's nothing wrong with that. How can this guy be talking about me when he doesn't even know me."
Tyrique later reacted to the clips during his Kick livestream, where Priya's friends were appearing as guests while watching the latest Love Island episode.
As the clip played, Tyrique paused the video after hearing Chidi speak and responded:
"You were quiet the whole time you was on Love Island you d*ckhead!"
He then continued:
"Bro's f*cking doing TikTok live from a rented AirBnB. Get my name out of your mouth cuz. We're not even in the same f*cking league."

Addressing his viewers directly, Tyrique added:
"Go to Chidi's chat and go cuss him out quickly for me and come back to the stream. Tell him he doesn't know what going on. He went on Love Island, he's got like 3.5K followers. I had that when I went on Love Island in the first couple days."
Chidi entered the current series as a Casa Amor bombshell but struggled to establish a romantic connection before being dumped from the island alongside Halle during a dramatic recoupling. His exit prompted mixed reactions from viewers, with some believing he had not been given enough time to settle into the villa, while others felt he failed to make enough of an impact before his departure.

Tyrique, meanwhile, has remained one of Love Island's most recognisable former contestants. Since finishing third alongside Ella Thomas in 2023, he has built a substantial online audience through livestreams, reaction content and appearances across the franchise. His blunt opinions and willingness to criticise contestants have earned him a loyal fanbase, although they have also made him one of the more controversial personalities to emerge from the show, with viewers frequently accusing him of being unnecessarily harsh in his commentary.

The feud has divided fans across social media. One person commented:
"Tyrique started on him expecting him to just take it, I'm sure that he is shocked that Chidi came back with vim!"
Another said:
"Tyrique started on Chidi. You don't have to like him on the show but why target him like that for no reason. It is bad vibes!"
A third wrote:
"Ty looked hurt when he said he's got no neck, literally looked like he wanted to cry. He's probably heard that before cause I have. Chidi ain't having it."
For now, neither Chidi nor Tyrique has made any further public comments following their latest exchanges. Whether the back-and-forth ends here or spills into another livestream remains to be seen, but fans will no doubt be watching closely to see if either of them has the final word.
