LOVE ISLAND ALL STARS POSTPONED FOLLOWING WILDFIRE THREAT

Filming of the third series of Love Island: All Stars in South Africa has been suspended after a precautionary evacuation of the villa due to nearby wildfires burning through parts of the Western and Eastern Cape, forcing residents from surrounding areas to leave ahead of the threat and leaving the show’s scheduled premiere in serious doubt. ITV confirmed that crew and contestants were moved to safer accommodation as a result of the blaze, and that the transmission of the show, originally set for Monday, will be delayed until further notice as safety concerns persist.

In a statement from the broadcaster, ITV said:

“Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed, Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed."

Ongoing wildfires in South Africa’s Western and Eastern Cape provinces have forced large-scale evacuations, road closures, and firefighting operations across multiple areas. The blazes, driven by high temperatures, strong winds, and dry vegetation, have already burned tens of thousands of hectares of land. Authorities have deployed aerial and ground crews to contain the flames, while residents and tourists in high-risk zones have been moved to safety.

In the Overstrand region, more than 120 people were evacuated from settlements threatened by advancing fires, with officials warning that conditions remain unpredictable. Smoke has reduced visibility, complicating both travel and firefighting efforts, and some infrastructure has been damaged. While there have been no confirmed fatalities directly linked to the wildfires, several people have sought medical treatment for smoke inhalation. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, urging residents to follow safety instructions and avoid open flames as the fire season continues.

The series, hosted by Maya Jama with returning islanders hoping to find love in the South African sunshine, boasts a cast of familiar faces from past seasons including former winners and popular contestants, though the disruption has left producers racing to adapt amid unpredictable weather and fire conditions around the villa site an hour from Cape Town.

The confirmed girls for the 2026 All Stars series are:

Whitney Adebayo (Series 10)

Millie Court (Series 7)

Belle Hassan (Series 5)

Helena Ford (Series 12)

Leanne Amaning (Series 6)

Jess Harding (Series 10)

The confirmed boys for the 2026 All Stars series are:

Shaq Muhammad (Series 9)

Ciaran Davies (Series 11)

Jack Keating (Series 8)

Tommy Bradley (Series 12)

Sean Stone (Series 11)

Charlie Frederick (Series 4)

With production on hold and no new broadcast date set as of now, ITV has reiterated that the show will return only when the location is deemed safe, leaving fans awaiting both the fate of the series and how long the impact of the wildfires will continue to affect the villa and cast.
