Dancehall Artist, Lisa Mercedez recently took an Ancestry DNA test, and posted the results on her Instagram. You can see the results in the post below:

However, Lisa did not receive the most positive reaction. She was quick to defend herself online by saying:"Some of you black people need to grow up and go educate yourselves and accept the fact that we're all Africans, whether you like it or not.

I see people cussing and saying I'm Jamaican and why all of a sudden I'm African. You lot sound so stupid. Smfh so if your ancestors are African what does that make you? Duh..At least me doing my Ancestry DNA makes me more aware of my roots, some of you are still lost and haven't accept the fact that we're all one. You guys need to acknowledge it now it's never too late."In the Borough comment section, a resident praised her actions by saying "Shout-out to her, at least she knows her roots."

Another commenter was suprised that more people aren't aware of the African ancestry of Black people "If you are BLACK, you will have african ancestry. No matter what you ethnicity is. Can't beleive people aren't aware of this."
