26-year-old TikToker Khadejah Sutherland, who documented her diagnosis and journey with incurable cancer, has died.
Just two months ago, the former history teacher said she refused to let the illness “take over her life” or stop her from achieving her dreams. Sutherland achieved more with her diagnosis than many do without one; her globe-trotting bucket list and determination to enjoy her life took her to destinations including Paris, Brazil, Prague, Ibiza, Malta, Dublin, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. Her most recent uploads are a testament to her travelling spirit, showing her hospitalised in Japan, where she highlighted the whopping cost of £1.5k a day to be hospitalised there.

The Birmingham-born inspiration first realised something was seriously wrong in 2022, when she was just 22 years old. Unlike many others, she did not initially experience the common warning signs typically linked to breast cancer, which made the situation more confusing and difficult to identify. Sutherland spoke openly about her journey to diagnosis in the hopes that others might be able to receive diagnoses more easily and in time. She said: “I did not have any of the typical symptoms associated with breast cancer. “I had put on a stone-and-a-half, and my skin was really bad – which was abnormal for me because, even as a teenager, I didn’t really have bad skin.

“That went on for about six months before I went to the doctor to try to figure out what was going on. My skin was consistently breaking out and became really, really dry. I was really slim and my eating hadn’t changed so to put on so much weight, it was very concerning.”
Sutherland spoke about receiving her initial stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis stating: “When I was diagnosed, I was absolutely devastated – it felt like an out-of-body experience because it just didn’t make sense.”

Unfortunately, her diagnosis went from bad to worse, with her cancer spreading from her breast to her liver and stomach, ultimately leaving her with a terminal diagnosis. Sutherland said: “My new diagnosis has been incredibly hard… It’s completely gut-wrenching to realise that you will never not have cancer and to realise that your life is essentially on a clock – and you can’t have all the same experiences as other people your age will have.”

Despite the devastating diagnosis, Sutherland remained determined to make the most of her life until the very end. Announcing the tragic news of her passing on Sutherland’s TikTok, which had amassed over 19,000 followers since she began sharing her story, her family wrote:
