Star Wars actor John Boyega has revealed he secretly tied the knot with girlfriend Lashontae Heckard, with the couple also welcoming their first child together.

The London-born actor, 34, shared the happy news with fans by posting an adorable video of himself cuddling his baby, revealing that their little one had arrived some time ago.

Alongside the sweet clip, John wrote: “Our bundle of joy has been with us for some time now but thank you for all the well wishes. Also my sister is about to pop! Wish her well too!

“Back to feeding this big baby!”

Lashontae, 48, was quick to respond to her husband's post, leaving a loving message in the comments section.

She wrote: “Love and blessings to my Blessing!!!!”

The actress, who has enjoyed a successful career in entertainment, was recognised by fans for her previous on-screen appearances and roles in music videos.

Despite their high-profile careers, John and Lashontae have largely kept their romance private, choosing to stay away from the spotlight when it comes to their relationship.

John recently opened up about their decision to have a low-key wedding ceremony almost two years ago, explaining that the pair preferred to celebrate their established relationship rather than its beginning.

Speaking to the Guardian, he said: “We both like the idea of celebrating something established, rather than celebrating the entry.”

However, the actor hinted that a much bigger celebration could be on the cards in the future, joking that the event would be so grand they would “have to shut Nigeria down!”

John has often spoken proudly about his Nigerian roots, with both of his parents hailing from the country.

The actor has embraced his heritage on several occasions, including wearing traditional Nigerian attire at the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

He has also shared his love of Nigerian culture with his co-stars, once taking Harrison Ford to a Nigerian restaurant in South London while the pair were filming.

During his recent interview, John revealed that Lashontae was expecting their baby and spoke warmly about how happy he was with his family life.

He said: “We got a baby cooking. My life is completely, completely fulfilled in terms of family. It’s been so nice with the timing.”

The new arrival is not Lashontae's first child. She is already a mum to son Brandon Jennings Jr, whom she shares with her former partner, ex-NBA star Brandon Jennings.
