Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has confirmed the safe arrival of her twin daughters with partner Zion Foster.
In an emotional joint post shared to the couple's Instagram page, the pair shared a picture of their babies having skin-to-skin contact with them. Nelson and Foster shared with fans that both of their baby girls were “healthy and fighting strong” after being delivered last week Thursday. The couple revealed the news of their daughters’ arrival on Sunday, just three days after Nelson gave birth at “31 weeks and 5 days” gestation.
The 34-year-old pop star shared: “So… Our beautiful baby girls decided to come at 31 weeks plus 5 days. It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong! We’ve never felt more in love.” The post was accompanied by the Lionel Richie song, "Truly."
The pair shared the twins unique names in the same post, stating: “Everybody meet Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster. Born on 15.05.2025” Fans flooded the 'Boyz' singer's Instagram with congratulatory messages and to celebrate the twins health, after the couple shared with fans their pregnancy journey.
In March of this year, the couple revealed that Nelson had been diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), a rare complication that can occur in twin pregnancies, where twins share a placenta. It happens when blood vessels in the umbilical cords connect the twins, causing an unequal exchange of blood. As a consequence, one twin may lose blood whilst the other receives too much.
At the time Nelson stated: "Unfortunately, the symptoms have got worse so they now have to perform the procedure, which is obviously not what we wanted to happen but it's necessary because it's going to give our babies the best chance of surviving." She added: "We’re just waiting to go in and we're just hoping and praying for the best really…It’s obviously really scary because there's so many things that can happen. Pray for us, please."
Following the frightful diagnosis, the Brit Award winning artist had to undergo an emergency procedure and was advised to remain in hospital until she was 32 weeks into her pregnancy. The young couple heeded medical advice and had been living in the hospital for roughly 2 months before the twins arrived. Whilst situations such as these can be devastating for families and relationships, her partner 25-year-old fellow musician Foster, shared that the ordeal had in fact brought he and Jesy closer together.
Foster stated: "I think it's at these times when you really, really know what love you have and what your relationship means. And I think for me and Jess, this has just taken it to a whole other level of us knowing we are literally made for each other." Nelson, who left Little Mix in December 2020, citing the need to protect her mental health, is the second of the band members to welcome twin girls. In 2021, Leigh-Anne Pinnock also welcomed twin daughters with now-husband, footballer Andre Gray.
