ITV Cancels Britan's Got Talent 2021 Due To Covid-19 Filming Struggles

Owing to production problems resulting from the pandemic, ITV has pre-emptively dropped the hammer on this year's season of "Britain's Got Talent".

The entertainment show is among the greatest primetime programs in the country and usually streams between April and June. Owing to COVID-19, the 2020 show was interrupted and screened in two parts, with the first half comprising of pre-pandemic auditions shot, aired from April to May, as well as the second half screened from late August to October, and featuring the rest of the series created under COVID rules

.However, amid the UK's continuing COVID-19 situation and the third national lockdown, which started off in the new year, the 2021 season seemed to be logistically impractical. The show, featuring one of its judges, Simon Cowell, normally films auditions from January. Earlier this month, production was delayed.ITV reports that planning for the audition process seemed to be particularly difficult in justifying the reason for cancelling the 2021 show, considering that the program typically attracts mass amounts of performers from all over the U.K.

A spokesperson for the show said: "Despite everyone at ITV, Thames and Syco doing their best to make it happen, and with our absolute priority of safeguarding the well-being and health of every person involved in the program, from judges, hosts and contestants to all of the crew and audience, the decision has been made to — unfortunately — move the record and broadcast of the 15th series of Britains Got Talent 2022.
