Gabrielle Carrington, 29, of Broadfield Road in Manchester, has been charged with attempted murder, alongside grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and drink driving.

She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 21 April.

The incident took place at around 4.30am on Sunday on Argyll Street in central London, a busy area between Oxford Street and Great Marlborough Street.

Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene.

A woman in her 30s, believed to be influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska, remains in a life threatening condition in hospital.

This comes after widespread posts online claimed she had died, with emotional tributes circulating across social media. However, police have not confirmed her death, and the latest official update states she is still fighting for her life.

In the same incident, a man in his 50s suffered life changing injuries and was taken to hospital, while another woman in her 30s was treated for minor injuries.

Footage shared online appears to show a car mounting the pavement and striking pedestrians, with bystanders reacting in shock as the situation unfolded.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed the investigation is ongoing, with detectives continuing to appeal for witnesses.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell urged anyone who may have seen what happened or has relevant information to come forward, stressing that even small details could be crucial to the case.
