Former 'Danity Kane' member Dawn Richards is suing disgraced artist P. Diddy for “Sexual Abuse”. Richard’s shot to fame after appearing on MTV’s Making The Band which was hosted by the mogul, as he promised the hopeful finalists a future with his Bad Boy Records record label. She also went on to join Diddy in the group Diddy-Dirty Money alongside singer Kalenna Harper
Following the show, Richards claims that a much more sinister series of events unfolded, and that the artist groped her multiple times and locked her inside a heavily-tinted car for hours as a form of punishment. In the lawsuit Richards claims that the music executive:
“manipulated her with mantras that submission to his depraved demands was necessary for career advancement, instilling in her the belief that such abuse and exploitation were required for female artists to succeed in the music industry.”
In the now widely circulated legal documents, Richards details one incident where she claims the disgraced artist “barged” into her dressing room while she was naked and inappropriately touched her “ breasts” and “bare buttocks”. Richards, who filed her case against Diddy in New York, has become the 8th person to accuse Diddy of sexual assault. She has also sued former Bad Boy Entertainment CEO Harve Pierre in connection with the allegations.
Richards' allegations were not limited to what was done to her by Diddy, she also claimed to have witnessed him abuse multiple other women. Richards claims to have seen the artist abusing ‘Me and You’ singer Cassie, who he dated on and off from 2007 to 2018. Cassie took her own legal proceedings against the abuser in November of 2023; a video of her abuse went viral in May of this year - adding great credibility to the mounting claims against Diddy.
Richards also claimed to have witnessed Diddy’s abuse of Cassie, detailing a time where she allegedly witnessed him throw a scorching pan of eggs at her while yelling, “I’ve been asking you for my s**t; I can’t stand you bitch, you never do it right!”. She added that she or others would be scorned when they tried to “get involved” in his relationship with Cassie.
Richards also claims to have seen the artist's late wife Kim Porter “crying as she left a music studio with her face all banged up” and facial injuries including a lacerated lip. In the extensive document, Richards goes on to details several occasions where she observed Combs’, including at his infamous drug-fueled parties with “young” women who appeared to be “lethargic or passed out” while “Combs and his friends performed sexual acts on them”.
The accusations against the disgraced CEO continue to mount and following the viral video of his abuse, even the most dedicated Diddy apologists have accepted that it doesn’t look good for him. We hope this means positive things for his victim(s) and that all those affected get justice.
