Digga D Scores First UK Number One with his Album "Noughty by Nature"
Drill artist Digga D has scored his first ever UK Number One on the Official Charts with his latest independent album "Noughty by Nature".The 21-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rhys Angelo Emile Herbert, has reached the top spot on the UK Albums Chart with his third mix tape. Digga D's 2019 debut mixtape, "Double Tap Diaries", reached number 11 on the charts. His 2020 release, "Made in the Pyrex", managed to score Number 3.The new Noughty by Nature album also hit number one on the Official Record Store Albums Chart. Speaking on his success, he told Official Charts: "Thank you everyone for your support. I am looking forward to dropping more music, so keep supporting!"Digga D also took to Twitter to thank fans for supporting him on his new music. Creative consultancy, Groundworks, congratulated Digga D: "History making 🏆 It�s official. @pyr3xliving at the top of the UK album charts. Number 1 ‼️💥 Crazy 🙏". He replied: "😎💯 big up everyone supporting". Groundworks also sent a different tweet, saying: "Digga going number 1 is very different to anyone who has done it before him, not everyone will understand why but if u get it you get it!" Digga D replied with a tweet, saying: "It's different".
Digga D's success on the charts paves the way for future success for artists working under the drill genre. This follows the first ever Number One drill single last year, a collaboration between drill artists Tion Wayne and Russ Millions called "Body". It also marks the fifth independent Number 1 album of the year, and the second consecutive week an independent release has topped the Official Albums Chart.Equals by Ed Sheeran was at number two while Olivia Rodrigo's Sour was at number three, and Wet Leg's self-titled effort took fourth place. Between Us by Little Mix returns to the top five.
