DAMSON IDRIS’ 17 YEAR OLD NEPHEW AMONG VICTIMS OF HUNTINGDON TRAIN STABBING

Damson Idris’ 17-year-old nephew named among victims of Huntingdon train stabbing. The 17-year-old nephew of British actor Damson Idris has been named as one of the youngest victims of the Huntingdon train stabbing that shocked the UK over the weekend.

Isaiah Ishmael Idris was among eleven people attacked onboard a London North Eastern Railway service travelling from Doncaster to London King’s Cross on Saturday evening. Emergency services described the scene as one of the worst incidents of violence seen on the British rail network in years.

Isaiah was reportedly slashed across the face during the chaos as passengers tried to flee the carriage. Witnesses said people screamed and ducked for safety as a man with a knife moved through the train. Police said the attack appeared random and unprovoked, and there is no indication that it was terror-related.

The train made an emergency stop at Huntingdon station just before 8 p.m. Armed police officers stormed the carriage and arrested a 32-year-old man from Peterborough on suspicion of attempted murder. Another man aged 35 was detained but later released without charge.

British Transport Police confirmed that eleven people were injured in total. Two of them were in life-threatening condition when they were taken to hospital, though most victims have since been stabilised. Officers are now examining CCTV footage from the train and nearby stations to piece together the timeline of events.

Isaiah’s family have asked for privacy as they come to terms with the attack. His uncle, Habeeb Idris, told reporters: “I am aware that Isaiah was involved in the incident on a train, but we are dealing with this privately as a family.” Damson Idris has not commented publicly but is said to be devastated by the news.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood have both condemned the violence, with the Home Office promising to support victims and their families. British Transport Police praised the quick action of officers and medical staff who responded within minutes of the emergency call.

The suspect, identified in court documents as Anthony Williams, appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with multiple counts of attempted murder. He has been remanded in custody while investigations continue.

The attack has reignited debate over knife crime in the UK, particularly the increasing number of young victims. Campaigners say incidents like this highlight the urgent need for tougher enforcement and more preventive work across communities.

Isaiah’s incident has hit social media hard, with tributes pouring in for the teenager. Friends described him as “bright, funny, and full of energy” and said his loss was “a huge shock to everyone who knew him.” Many users have also sent messages of support to Damson Idris, expressing sympathy for the actor and his family.

The incident caused major disruption on the East Coast Main Line as services were halted for several hours. LNER said it was “deeply saddened” by what happened and is cooperating fully with police investigators. The company has offered counselling to staff and passengers affected by the attack.

As investigations continue, police are appealing to anyone who was on the train or at Huntingdon station at the time to come forward with information. They also urged the public to avoid sharing unverified footage or speculation online while the case is ongoing.

For the Idris family, the tragedy marks an unimaginable tragedy. What was meant to be an ordinary weekend journey turned into a national story that has left a family and community mourning a young life taken far too soon.
