Fresh details have emerged surrounding the breakup of former Love Island couple Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, after Dami addressed the timeline of events that led to their split. For months, fans have questioned whether the pair were still together when Indiyah was filmed kissing Marlon Lundgren Garcia during a night out in December. While the couple didn’t officially announce their breakup until January, Dami has now confirmed they were still in a relationship at the time.

Speaking on Paul C Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, Dami explained: “It was a thing of, stories weren’t adding up. Her story just wasn’t adding up and then eventually she came forward to tell me and then we had to, obviously I said, ‘I can’t be in this relationship’.”

He went on to describe how the situation raised red flags for him: “Things didn’t feel right in the sense of that night, when she went out. We have this thing of, if you go out just text me, just say what you’re doing. She’s gone for the whole night, that doesn’t make sense, because you would [text].

“I was with you in the morning. I’ve helped you put your outfit on, then you’ve gone out and come back, your story don’t make sense when I’m asking where you’ve been.”

Addressing public reactions, he added: “People might say it’s just a kiss and all that, but I don’t actually know what the full story is.

“Cause there are certain elements that are part of the story that confuses me, do you know what I mean? I don’t want to go into it, I don’t want to spread too much info about her.”

The former couple met on Love Island in 2022 and had been together for nearly four years. It’s believed Indiyah met Marlon while filming the Netflix series Inside last autumn. A now-viral clip—reportedly filmed on December 13 at Duck & Waffle—shows her kissing the American streamer, who later confirmed the moment.

The revelations have sparked strong reactions online, particularly among followers of The Shade Borough. One Resident user wrote: “They’ll say black men don’t like to speak out and when they do they call them weak.” Another added: “I feel bad for him and losing his dad as well.”
