Comedian and Actor Leslie Jordan Dies at 67

Comedian and actor Leslie Jordan, known for his roles in Will & Grace and American Horror Story, passed away at age 67.

The actor who won an Emmy for his performance as Beverly Leslie in the TV show Will and Grace in 2006 was behind the wheel of his BMW and collided into a building on Cahuenga Blvd. and Romaine St. in Los Angeles.

He suffered from a medical emergency and was declared dead at the scene.

The veteran actor has who has featured on The Help, The Cool Kids and Call Me Kat,Ally McBeal, Ugly Betty, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Hidden Palms, Star Trek: Voyager, Caroline in the City, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Reba, Boston Public, Nash Bridges and Boston Legal. He has also featured in films such as Ski Patrol, Roadside Rodeo,Love Ranch, Southern Baptist Sissies, and The United States vs Billie Holiday.

In 2020, Leslie's fame grew further when he began going viral and became social media phenomenon gaining traction and millions of followers.

The tributes have flooded in for the deceased actor, with his agent stating: "The world is definitely a much darker place today without the love and light of Leslie Jordan"

He added: "Not only was he a mega talent and joy to work with, but he provided an emotional sanctuary to the nation at one of its most difficult times. What he lacked in height he made up for in generosity and greatness as a son, brother, artist, comedian, partner and human being. Knowing that he has left the world at the height of both his professional and personal life is the only solace one can have today."

Fellow actor George Takei tweeted: "I am stunned at the death of Leslie Jordan, who delighted us with his many roles on television and film. The cause of death was a car crash after he suffered a medical emergency. Leslie, we are heartbroken at your loss and will miss your mirth and your inimitable spirit."

Jordan was openly gay and an avid supporter of LGBTQ rights, and an icon in the community after he received the GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics" Timeless Star award in 2021. He has also appeared on RuPaul's Drag Race as a guest judge in 2013 and again in 2022 as a guest director.

As well as this, during the AIDS crisis, he was involved with the AIDS Project Los Angeles and Project Angel Food.
