Chadwick Boseman has been posthumously awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, five years after his passing at the age of 43. The late actor, celebrated globally for his impactful performances and cultural influence, was honoured during an emotional ceremony held on 20 November on Hollywood Boulevard. The event was attended by Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward-Boseman, who delivered a heartfelt tribute to her late husband.

Boseman, who passed away in 2020 after a private battle with colon cancer, was remembered in an emotional ceremony.

"We love you, we miss you", said his wife, Simone Ledward-Boseman, as she paid tribute to the actor's legacy.

Also present were several of his long-time friends and collaborators. Attendees included the director of Black Panther, Ryan Coogler, as well as cast members Letitia Wright and Michael B. Jordan, who worked closely with Boseman throughout the creation of the groundbreaking Marvel franchise. Acclaimed actress Viola Davis, who starred alongside Boseman in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, was also in attendance to pay her respects.

Davis said: “I have to believe that Chadwick is still alive,” Davis said. “I can’t use the word ‘gone’ or ‘death’ really when thinking about him. I celebrate him today. And I say to him, I hope all the angels in heaven just sang him to a beautiful rest. And I thank him for what he left behind in me, which is a burning ember that always guides me to a higher meaning of my work and my purpose.”

Boseman’s star serves as a lasting symbol of his remarkable legacy, both on and off screen. Known for portraying iconic figures such as Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Thurgood Marshall, alongside his legendary role as King T’Challa, Boseman’s influence continues to resonate deeply within the entertainment industry and among audiences around the world.

The honour reflects not only his extraordinary talent but also the profound impact he had during a career cut tragically short. As fans and colleagues celebrate this milestone, the Hollywood Walk of Fame now carries a permanent testament to Chadwick Boseman’s enduring contribution to film and culture.
