BROOKLYN BECKHAM BREAKS SILENCE ON FAMILY FEUD: "I DON'T WANT A RELATIONSHIP WITH MY PARENTS"

Brooklyn Beckham has publicly addressed his long-running family dispute for the first time, launching a deeply personal and critical statement aimed at his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. The 26-year-old, who is the eldest son of the former footballer and fashion designer, shared a six-page message on Instagram on Monday evening in which he said he no longer wishes to repair his relationship with his family. Brooklyn stated that he is finally “standing up for himself” after years of remaining silent.

Brooklyn and his wife, actress and heiress Nicola Peltz, 31, have been at the centre of the fractured relationship, which has seen the couple noticeably absent from several major family occasions in recent months. These include David Beckham’s milestone 50th birthday celebrations and his knighthood honours.

In his statement, Brooklyn alleged that he grew up in an environment focused heavily on image and public perception, claiming he had been “controlled by a family that prioritises publicity above everything else.” He said that since marrying Nicola, he has experienced a sense of calm and emotional relief, revealing he previously struggled with severe anxiety.

According to Brooklyn, tensions escalated during the planning of his and Nicola’s wedding in April 2022. He alleged that both of his parents repeatedly interfered in their relationship and attempted to undermine their marriage.

One of the most serious claims involved his mother’s reported withdrawal from designing Nicola’s wedding dress shortly before the ceremony. Brooklyn said the last-minute decision forced Nicola to quickly find an alternative gown. Rumours surrounding the dress first surfaced when Nicola ultimately wore a couture Valentino design, despite earlier reports suggesting Victoria Beckham would create the dress. While Brooklyn released his statement, Nicola paid tribute on social media to legendary designer Valentino Garavani, who passed away in Rome at the age of 93.

Brooklyn also claimed that his parents attempted to pressure him into signing away the rights to his name ahead of his wedding, allegedly warning that the agreement needed to be completed before the ceremony. He said his refusal permanently altered how he was treated by his family.

He further alleged that tensions continued throughout the wedding itself, claiming his mother criticised him and Nicola for seating elderly relatives at the top table. Brooklyn also said that members of his family told him the night before the wedding that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.”

In another explosive allegation, Brooklyn described feeling humiliated during what was supposed to be his first dance with Nicola. He claimed the moment was overtaken by his mother, leaving him so uncomfortable that he and Nicola later decided to renew their vows privately on their third wedding anniversary. None of his immediate family attended the vow renewal, which took place in New York’s Westchester County last August.

Brooklyn also addressed his absence from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations, explaining that despite travelling to London, he and Nicola were repeatedly unable to arrange private time with his father. He claimed David would only agree to see him if Nicola was excluded, which Brooklyn described as deeply hurtful.

He accused his family of consistently disrespecting his wife, alleging that women from his past were intentionally brought into their orbit to cause discomfort. He added that later attempts to reconnect while his family visited Los Angeles were also rejected.

Brooklyn said the ongoing conflict had extended to his siblings, claiming he was attacked online and eventually blocked by them. His brother Cruz previously denied claims that the family had unfollowed Brooklyn on social media, instead stating that they had been blocked by him.

In closing, Brooklyn criticised what he described as a culture of brand-building within his family, stating that public appearances, endorsements and social media image were prioritised over genuine relationships. He rejected claims that Nicola controls him, saying instead that he had been under his parents’ influence for most of his life.

Brooklyn said stepping away from his family has significantly improved his mental health and allowed him to find peace. He concluded by stating that he and Nicola want a private life focused on happiness, free from manipulation and public pressure.
