Residents, if you thought yesterday was hot... today could be even hotter 🥵☀️
Britain could be on track to record its hottest May day ever, with temperatures forecast to climb above 32.8°C and potentially rewrite the record books.
According to forecasters, today could become:
🔥 The hottest day of 2026 so far
🔥 The hottest May day ever recorded in the UK
🔥 The hottest Bank Holiday ever recorded
Yesterday already saw temperatures soar to 32.3°C across parts of the country, but meteorologists believe today's highs could push even further.
If temperatures exceed 32.8°C, it would officially surpass the current May temperature record, which has been matched on three separate occasions over the years.
With UK weather records stretching all the way back to 1884, today could go down as one of the hottest spring days the country has ever experienced 🌡️☀️
The unseasonably warm weather has seen beaches, parks and outdoor spaces packed across the country, with many residents making the most of the sunshine while it lasts.
However, health experts are reminding people to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours and check in on vulnerable friends and family members during the heatwave.
Residents, be honest... are you loving this weather or counting down the days until autumn already? 😭☀️👇🏾
