Boris Johnson Has Been Banned From Entering Russia

Russia's foreign ministry have now banned Boris Johnson and twelve other British Government members from entering the country. The decision has been made due to "the unprecedented hostile action by the UK government".Liz Truss, Ben Wallace, Dominic Raab, Grant Shapps, Priti Patel, Rishi Sunak, Kwasi Kwarteng, Nadine Dorries, James Heappey, Nicola Sturgeon, Suella Braverman and Theresa May have also been banned. In a statement, Russia's ministry said that "London's unbridled information and political campaign aimed at isolating Russia internationally, creating conditions for containing our country and strangling the domestic economy" and this the cause of decision.

The ministry added:

"In essence, the British leadership is deliberately aggravating the situation around Ukraine, pumping the Kyiv regime with lethal weapons and coordinating similar efforts on the part of Nato."

The decision has been in retaliation to the UK's sanctions against it since it invaded Ukraine:

"In connection with the unprecedented hostile actions of the British government, expressed, in particular, in the imposition of sanctions against top officials of the Russian Federation, a decision was made to include key members of the British government and a number of political figures in the Russian 'stop list'."The Russian foreign ministry statement accused Britain of enforcing a "Russophobic course" by encouraging other countries to imitate "senseless and counterproductive" sanctions against the nation.

The news comes just a week week after Boris Johnson met with Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in Kyiv to further pledge Britain's "unwavering support" to the country through their fight against the Russian invasion. On the 25th of February Boris Johnson addressed the nation live after the confirmation of the full-scale militant attack against Ukraine, orchestrated by Russia. The Prime minister expressed Britain's support from the start, declaring this county's full commitment to the support of our European allies, making clear that Britain involvement will be demonstrated "diplomatically, politically, economically and "eventually" militantly."
