Tottenham Hotspur have been left facing an £86,000 bill after Drip, the canned water brand founded by celebrity chef Big Zuu, entered voluntary liquidation with debts of more than £9 million.
The Premier League club signed a partnership with Drip in 2024, making the company the official front of training wear partner of Tottenham Hotspur Women. The deal was announced with a focus on shared sustainability values, with Drip positioning itself as a disruptor in the bottled water market.
However, the collapse of the company means Spurs are not expected to recover the £86,000 they are owed.
The north London club are not the only football team affected. National League side Worthing FC are also reportedly owed £14,000 following the company's financial collapse.
Founded in 2023, Drip built its presence in the drinks market through its canned water products, which were stocked by retailers including Morrisons and WH Smith.
The brand also secured a partnership with Matchroom Boxing, the promotion company led by Eddie Hearn, becoming its official water partner. Matchroom, however, is not listed among Drip's creditors.
Drip's collapse comes after a period of significant investment. Last year, the company was reportedly valued at around £100 million after securing a £4 million investment from Middle Eastern firm Raya Holding.
Despite that backing, the business has now entered voluntary liquidation, leaving millions of pounds in outstanding debts and raising questions over how much creditors will ultimately recover.
