BRITISH MUSEUM SET TO HOST ITS OWN ‘UK’ VERSION OF THE MET GALA

The British Museum is preparing to host an invite-only fundraising ball on 18 October, described as a “UK Met Gala” that will blend glamour, heritage and philanthropy. The event aims to highlight London’s cultural prominence, while raising vital funds for the museum’s international projects, partnerships and future landmark exhibitions.

The 2025 Met Gala, held on 5 May at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, embraced the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” celebrating 300 years of Black fashion. The dress code, “Tailored for You,” encouraged attendees to honour Black heritage through bespoke tailoring and cultural symbolism. British stars made a significant impact on the red carpet with Damson Idris, Lewis Hamilton and Stormzy making appearances.

In a landmark move, Reece Wabara has acquired 100% ownership of Manière De Voir by purchasing the remaining 17% shares from his childhood friend Lewis Morgan for £9.4 million.
