Award winning rapper Nines, whose real name is Courtney Freckleton, has pleaded guilty to three offences at Kingston Crown Court following his arrest at London’s Heathrow Airport in November 2023.
The 34 year old admitted being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug, namely cannabis, between August and November 2023. He also pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis on 15 November 2024 and failing to comply with a Serious Crime Prevention Order by not notifying authorities of a change of address.
In November last year, a video circulated on TikTok showing Nines in handcuffs being escorted through Heathrow by police officers, sparking widespread discussion among fans.
Nines has long been associated with cannabis culture through his music, with six albums to his name including the popular Crop Circle series. Earlier this month he cancelled a planned music festival, Crop Circle World, which was due to be held in Margate, Kent.
Judge Simon Heptonstall adjourned sentencing until the end of next month but refused to grant bail, remanding the rapper in custody. He told Nines that he faced an immediate custodial sentence.
The guilty plea marks another chapter in the troubled legal history of the musician, who has previously served prison time. Fans will now be waiting to see how long his latest sentence will keep him away from the spotlight.
