Love Island star Mara Pirez has shut down speculation surrounding her hourglass figure after some viewers became convinced that she had undergone a Brazilian bum lift. Speaking during an interview with Capital XTRA, the former Casa Amor bombshell wasted no time clearing up the rumours.
“Apparently I have a BBL, the rumours are false,” she said.
Mara went on to explain that her physique is simply a family affair, crediting her Cape Verdean heritage and the women she grew up around for her natural curves.
“My grandma, my mum, my auntie, all the women are shaped like this. Thank you, Jesus. That’s all I can say.”

Mara entered Casa Amor on Day 23 and quickly became one of the season’s most talked-about bombshells. She later secured a spot in the main villa after Simba Kudyiwa chose to couple up with her, bringing their new connection back from Casa Amor. However, their romance was short-lived, and Mara was eventually left single and dumped from the Island.

Following the BBL speculation, several viewers rushed to Mara’s defence, arguing that her body had always appeared natural. Others suggested that cosmetic surgery has become so normalised online that people now automatically assume any woman with a curvier figure must have gone under the knife.

Either way, Mara has officially addressed the rumours, and according to her, the body is strictly hereditary!
Residents, do you think society has become too quick to assume that naturally curvy women have had surgery? 👀
