JAKE PAUL CONSIDERS A BLACKFACE SKIT IN RESPONSE TO DRUSKI’S CONSERVATIVE WOMEN SKIT

Jake Paul, the American social media personality and professional boxer, was discussing Druski’s widely shared and debated viral sketch with Theo Von when he disclosed that he had been in contact with makeup artists about creating his own response.

Paul said,

“I’ve been, over the last couple of days, calling makeup artists. I was going to do a response to this and do the full-on...”

When Von asked for clarification,

“Darker?”, Paul responded, “Yeah. And just do it back, because why not? Are we on the same playing field?”

Which illustrated his intent to match Druski’s provocative style with something equally eye‑catching and potentially contentious.

The notion of a blackface reply immediately raised questions about how audiences might react to a sketch that would echo painful and racist historical practices, and Von pointed out that blackface would almost certainly result in significant backlash, suggesting that working with a well‑known Black entertainer might soften the impact, yet Paul dismissed that idea.

“That’s pying out,” Paul said, resisting the notion of partnering with another artist to lend support, and adding, “Doesn’t that make us more prejudiced if we have to partner with someone? Druski just dropped this. I fing love it. This is great. This is how humans should be. We should f***ing make fun of each other. And I don’t see in colour, I see in truth and comedy. So what are we talking about? What era are we living in?”
Druski's 'Conservative Woman' character

Druski’s original skit has itself been polarising, with some viewers applauding the humour and others condemning the portrayal as offensive, especially because the video was widely seen as parodying public figures associated with conservative movements, even though no specific individual was named.

On social media platforms the Druski clip, which features him in exaggerated makeup and costume, has generated millions of views and prompted commentary from a broad spectrum of commentators.

At the time of writing Paul has not confirmed whether he will move ahead with the controversial blackface response, leaving open the possibility that the idea could remain just a provocative talking point rather than an actual production, but his remarks have already drawn strong reactions from online audiences uneasy about the implications.
