DEONTAY WILDER GIVES EXPLICIT DETAILS OF HIS DAUGHTER’S CONCEPTION

Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, known in the ring as The Bronze Bomber, delivered a striking and highly personal account of the circumstances surrounding the conception of his eldest child during an interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan.

Talking ahead of his bout against Derek Chisora at the O2 Arena in London, Wilder spoke frankly about events that occurred many years earlier when Naieya’s mother was pregnant with their daughter, who was born with spina bifida.

Wilder began by making a bold claim about how the pregnancy came to be, saying,

“Her mother tried to set me up to have the baby,” then elaborated, “She ejected my sperm in her and ran into the bathroom and locked the door and that is how we had her,"

A revelation that left both Morgan and viewers taken aback by its graphic nature.

He went on to outline how he believed he knew this intimate detail, telling Morgan that at the time, he had a habit of folding his towel neatly by the bed because he would want to wipe himself off of his partner’s stomach. He said,

“I used to fold my towel nicely by the bed, because I would want to wipe it off on her stomach,”

Explaining that on this particular occasion she chose to run off to the bathroom, which led to the pregnancy. Describing the circumstances further, Wilder added,

“This particular time, she decided that she wanted to have a baby by me cause I was the best thing that ever came into her life.”

He also admitted that he discovered the pregnancy details by reading her journal long after the fact, acknowledging,

“I only found out by reading her journal, she did not know I read her journal.”

Wilder also reflected on the challenges surrounding Naieya’s early life, noting that the child was born with spina bifida, a condition in which a baby’s spine and spinal cord do not fully develop inside the womb. He claimed that her mother had considered terminating the pregnancy once she learned of the diagnosis, but he opposed the idea, feeling that their daughter deserved to live. This deeply personal account offered insight into his motivations and how becoming a father shaped his life and career.

Born in 2005, Naieya later became a source of inspiration for Wilder as he pursued his boxing career, with the former champion often citing his daughter’s needs and future as central to his determination and success. The boxer, who has seven children with multiple partners, has previously discussed his commitment to his family, and this latest interview added further context to his personal journey.
