TV presenter Alison Hammond has reassured fans that she is doing well after unexpectedly leaving the set of This Morning and later being taken to hospital for precautionary checks. The 51-year-old was co-hosting Friday’s edition of the popular ITV programme when viewers noticed something was wrong. During a live segment, Alison appeared uncomfortable before stepping away from the show during a commercial break, sparking concern among fans watching at home.
Later, the television favourite shared an update on social media from hospital, where doctors were carrying out tests following what she described as a heart palpitation.
“Hello my lovelies, I know you’re all worried about me,” she began her address. “Honestly I am fine first of all. I’m getting me old ticker checked out, I had a little bit of a palpitation, and now I’m getting it all checked out but I think I’m okay. “I’m hoping it’s just a little panic attack or something like that,” she added.
Alison went on to thank supporters for their concern and explained why she had no choice but to leave the live broadcast.
“I love you all, thank you for all your lovely messages, I’m so sorry I left you, I would never normally do that, I would never normally leave a TV show. “So you know I wasn’t very well but hopefully I’m going to be alright. The doctors are so lovely and they’re checking me out. And hopefully everything is going to be fine.
“I love you,” she signed off by blowing a kiss. “Well everything is fine, look I’m rocking it, I’ve still got my make-up on from This Morning. Lush, love you Babs.”
The incident unfolded during a discussion with resident vet Dr Scott Miller. While speaking on air, Alison was seen placing a hand on her chest before quickly moving away from the camera. Moments later, she left the sofa and exited the studio while appearing short of breath.

The unexpected interruption left viewers concerned, with Dr Scott attempting to continue the segment while the situation unfolded around him.
When the programme returned from a break, co-host Dermot O’Leary appeared alone and addressed Alison’s absence.
“Welcome back to This Morning, Ali is feeling just a little unwell so she’s just had to duck out.
“Hopefully she’ll be back in a sec.”
However, Alison did not return to the programme, leaving Dermot to continue presenting the remainder of the show on his own.
The sudden departure prompted an outpouring of support on social media, with fans sending messages of encouragement and wishing Alison a speedy recovery.
