Two women died at Manchester Royal Infirmary after being given chicken and mayonnaise sandwiches by the hospital. An inquest has heard that the sandwiches were contaminated with listeria, causing the women to develop listeriosis, which can be deadly. Beverley Sowah (57) and Enid Heap (84) passed away in the hospital less than a month from one another.

The NHS has said that children will no longer be prescribed puberty blockers at gender identity clinics. The decision is a result of a sharp rise in gender identity referrals in the UK. The spike in referrals prompted an independent review of gender identity services provided for under 18s.
